The idea for For Sea and Oats began with two simple loves - oats and the ocean.
While studying environmental science, I spent a summer in Mexico as a sea turtle conservation volunteer. Everyday as I walked along the beaches, I was struck by how much plastic washed ashore. Later, I moved to New York City and became a climate policy researcher.
At the same time, I was searching for skincare that could calm my own sensitive skin for years. One memorable acne flare-up led me to discover the soothing magic of oats and the power of "less is more."
What began as a personal search grew into a practice of research and small-batch formulation at home. During the quiet months of the pandemic lockdown, I completed a diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation from Formula Botanica.
In 2021, I launched For Sea and Oats to create gentle, oat-based products for sensitive skin and to give back to the ocean that inspired it. As the brand grow, we have established a formulation studio space where each product continues to be crafted with care and intention.

Each formula is made with concentrated oat-derived ingredients such as oat oil, colloidal oatmeal, and oat milk, blended with plant butters, oils, and clays. Every ingredient serves a purpose, and we never use synthetic fragrances or unnecessary fillers.
Our packaging is entirely plastic-free, made from biodegradable and recycled materials. Through our Profits for Sea initiative, we donate a portion of profits to ocean conservation and carbon-offset projects, extending care beyond the surface of the skin.
